The TANgent Process
The key to achieving a beautiful sunless tan is by following strict pre- and post- spray instructions. Even with the best solutions, products, and techniques, the development of the tan can be negatively effected by not following the instructions your spray tan artist gives you.

Before Your Spray Tan
It's vital to follow proper prep instructions before your spray tan. Your spray tan artist may refuse service at the time of appointment if you have not properly prepped.
Exfoliate, shave or wax 24-48 hours before your appointment time. Do not use any lotions, oils or deodorant within 24 hours before your tan.
Allow 4-6 weeks for sunburn to heal before booking a spray tan. We will not be able to spray over burnt, peeling or excessively dry skin.
Note that we will do our best to cover tan lines, but they may still be visible through the spray tan.
Refrain from physical activity and exercise prior to your appointment. Sweating can cause streaking and patchiness once your tan develops.
During Your Appointment
Upon arrival at your home, we will begin to set up the spray tan tent and materials.
The spray tan artist will begin the consultation, and ask the following questions:
1. Do you have any allergies or sensitivities?
2. Is this your first time getting a spray tan? Please share any past spray tan experiences.
3. Is there a special occasion? When is the occasion, and what will you be wearing?
4. What are your desired results?
5. How do you typically tan in the sun? Do you burn and peel? Do you wan gradually? How dark do you typically get?
Based on your answers during the consultation, the spray tan artist will recommend a solution for your skin type and desired results.
The spray tan artist will give you privacy to undress and prepare for the spray tan, and mix the tanning solution.
Once the spray tan begins, the spray tan artist will instruct you how to pose and when to move. The spray tanning process takes 15-20 minutes total.
After the spray tan concludes, dress in loose, dark clothing.

Caring for Your Spray Tan
Follow the aftercare instructions your spray tan artist gives you closely.
Depending on what type of spray tan you receive and your desired results, your spray tan artist will give you a specific rinse time. During this rinse, you will use only warm water and your hands to wipe off the bronzer or clear solution.
After your rinse, avoid application of lotions, oils, makeup, etc, as it can cause underdevelopment of your tan.
After 24 hours of your tan, you can take a full shower and apply products/makeup. Avoid overuse of products to extend the life of your spray tan. Excessive sweating and swimming in saltwater or chlorine may also cause your tan to fade faster.
With the proper care, your spray tan can last 5-7 days.
